Nifeton Down
Nifeton Down is one of the most amazingly fair spots in this country of ours. Well beloved, and known to many, as both an ornithologists paradise and the haunt of aurelian lepidopterists. (Tautological butterfly enthusiasts!)
Take the Nifeton Down Lift, and you will find that a greater expanse of the down will be opened up to you.
You can see for miles, and with the right telescope (hireable at the bottom for 1 shilling, plus deposit) you can watch the collector’s nets bobbing from hillock to tussock.
Nifeton Down Lift is one of a series of works influenced by ideas of travel and adventure, as seen through the eyes of Thomas Inglebrook Morgan.
